The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

It is such a sad way to go, but Mike was probably feeling good.  They say he had just came out of the gym when he had a major stroke. He as Mike would have hung on hard for a few days, but it was too much to stop. There was a big story of Mike in the LA Times on Sunday about his passing, which was kind of a surprise as Mike only came to Santa Barbara for Polo and spent 95% of his time on the East Coast.  The race horse and polo people knew him everywhere. As I said before, he helped a million people throughout his career and many were the high-end, but the people who will always remember him are the grooms and players who needed help. Mike would always come over and look at your problem and most of the time he could fix it. He was always at the big polo and always helping some team or two from Santa Barbara to West Palm Beach. He always had a lovely assistant. I would guess he is checking out the Ladies above and going to check on someones horse.

We will Miss you Mikee and our sympathy goes out to Alice.
