Back east in Aiken all 4 teams are tied at 1 & 0 1 and they all have 1 game to play, so nobody knows. In Santa Barbara its all starting over on Saturday as the Governor (Pat Nesbitt) returned to competive polo as he left it winning after an injury. He is happy and looking for round 2.
In San Diego, which may have the biggest turn out of all clubs, has 4 teams at 1 & 0 1 and one at 0 & 2 and one at 2 & 0. Everybody has 3 more games to go so it will be a wild weekend where the surf meets the turf. In Aiken they will be on TV if they win and are in the finals.
Friday in San Diego goes like this …
At 11 a.m its Gypsy’s vs. Hanalei Bay. Both are 1 & 1. At 1 p.m. Its Chris & Bill versus Hidden Creek with Mr. Keys looking to school Billy Boy (Bill Freeman). Wild Bill is 1 & 1 and Sir Sean is looking up as he is 0 & 2. At 3 p.m. its undefeated Tri Tech with Silent Chris moving the train versus 1 & 1 Madison Square. Lady Lisa Bosstick is still not afraid of big bad Chris Maloney yet. So if your out and about its polo time. There will be a party Friday nite in SD you can bet on it.
In Houston there is action, I just do not know what it is. In Argentina there is not as Mother Nature is winning there. As they would say “no mas polo pronto” I guess. I have no idea. There is a big Ladies tournament shaping up for San Diego on Oct, 6 & 7th. Back east in the real Blue Blood World where polo started in the U.S. its Polo in Darien, CT the 23RD HARRIMEN CUP is ready to start. Yale takes on U OF V for the 23rd annual war. So if your looking to party do not miss it. You can look it up on www.harrimencup.org its this Saturday the 22 nd of Sept.
