From the sunny Costa Careyes on the Mexican Pacific coast, south of Puerto Vallarta, we are happy to inform you of our main events of our 20th polo season starting November 17th, 2007 through March 30th, 2008.
We have 60 polo ponies for rent and this year we will count again with the presence of several pros including Guillermo Li (Chino, from Perú as Polo Manager) and Raúl Ramírez (from México) and two beautiful bermuda polo fields close to the ocean.
There are also standard rooms, bungalows on the beach, casitas with or without pool and new villas for rent, 2 new restaurants, one of them a steak house also offering pasta and tequilas, in the Rancho Don Andrés at the Polo Club as well as Cocodrilo Azul Beach Club on the Careyes Beach with Sushi and Asian foods. You can also enjoy great new activities such as bird, crocodile, whale and sunset watching. Golf at Tamarindo, tennis, jungle hikes, beach riding and parties. In may 2007 Careyes sucessfully sponsored and hold the FIP World Championship play offs, where Canada won over the USA and Guatemala teams.
The Costa Careyes season will start with the Thanksgiving Cup (Nov. 22nd to 25th) with 2 Cups, the traditional Copa Sombras sponsored by Rocio and Bolko Kissling, and our Second Ladies Tournament in Careyes Copa Giuliana.
Christmas and New Year Tournaments, 8-12 goal teams,
Christmas polo : December 15th to 24th
New Years Tournament : December 27th to Jan 6th. Careyes and Playa Rosa Cups, 8 to 14 games from December 15th to January 6th with players from all over the world and this year with the visit of several international high goal professionals. Polo Clinics and personalized lessons will be available in the mornings.
Nations Cup between USA, Mexico and Careyes will be held from January 11th to 20th in order to strengthen our relashionship with USA polo clubs and players that could come during our season to enjoy polo, sun and margaritas.
In February (8th to 17th) we will repeat the great experience of last years Masters Tournament playing 14-16 goals games with patrons and pros who want to share great polo and a beautiful vacation. Olavo Novaes, Tano Vial, Oscar Garibay, Chino Li, José Donoso and Luis Lalor were some of the pros to participate.
Chinese New Year Cup (Year of the Rat) will be played February 8th, followed by a great acelebration.
Copa de la Amistad (February 26th to March 1st) when a team from Chantilly, France will challenge Careyes who beat them in France this last September in their Club.
Copa Agua Alta sponsored by Kary and Alberto Ardissone will be played from March 15st to April 22nd with a maximum of 8 teams (10-12 goals) featuring a competitive tournament with great Mexican events (charreadas, escaramusas, horse ballets and rodeos) and parties, followed by the Easter Tournament (March 25th to 30th).
Mexico has been selected for the FIP World Championship to be held in Mexico City. Practice Games will also be held in Careyes during the event, from April 19th to May 4th 2008.

These are the highlights of the season, but between those dates, individual players or teams are welcome and unless there is a tournament, we play practice games 4 times a week. We can also organize an event with your needs and fantasies!
