It was Millerville losing by a hair playing much closer and with a genuine chance to win against Peter Brant’s White Birch, but it did not happen. Even with a explosion by Peter’s horse when he made a great recovery to stay on then rolled off in pain. I am sure it was Little Mac (Frederick Mannix, Jr.) showing he is the best Amateur player in the World as he did it all today. Daniel Roenisch also played a very strong game as they were not nearly the underdogs I thought they would be.
In the second semi it was Lechuza Caracas blowing Jedi out when late in the first chukker 10-goal Sebe Merlos was injured in a fall and taken to the hospital. There was a very small chance to sub for that handicap as most big sticks are gone or playing so it was a 6-goal sub and the lead evaporated after the 3rd. Pite did as well as he was too frustrated to keep it going. After the recent tragedy of Skeeter, I imagine on his mind as well, and they give it to Jedi. Jedi played well, but I feel they would have been history had Sebe continued. We have not yet heard Sebe’s condition he was talking, but with a neck problem when he left the field. Will follow up on other games later.
