Oak Brook, IL….On Sunday, July 20, teams will compete in the finals of the high-goal Chicago International Polo Cup at the Oak Brook Polo Grounds at 1 p.m.
A match in the Morgan Creek Cup will be played at 3 p.m.. The Morgan Creek Cup is sponsored by Morgan Creek Farms of Yorkville, a founding member of the Chicago International Polo Club, host of the tournament.
Both tournaments feature internationally ranked professional polo players competing alongside local players in fast-paced polo action.
The following Sunday, July 27, will feature competition in the BGC Polo Classic. The Classic is composed of two high-goal tournaments, the BGC Chicago Cup at 1 p.m., and the BGC Traders Cup, at 3 p.m. This annual event is sponsored by BGC Partners, Inc., a leading global inter-dealer broker.
Tournament matches will be played at the Oak Brook Polo Grounds every Sunday through September 14. Your ticket admits you for the entire afternoon.
Other activities scheduled throughout the summer include charity benefits, automobile shows, the annual Argentine-American Polo Classic, corporate outings and other entertainment.
Gates open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets, available at the gate, are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens (65 and over); children age 12 and under and parking are free.
Dress is casual and spectators are welcome. Pack a picnic lunch or purchase lunch from the sizzling grill, bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an afternoon at the Oak Brook Sports Core, watching the “sport of kings.”
Entrance to the Oak Brook Polo Grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook.
