The Polo Report by Steve Crowder – We are walking forward, but just barely. Yesterday is history and it was so different today. It started early at 9:45 AM with Fish Creek vs. Aspen Oaks with a hard-riding Ed Pope who jump started his Aspen team. They rolled over Fish Creek for an even record at 1 and 1. Fish Creek is also at 1 and 1.
In the game next door, it was Butter Cup Geri Dardi and Dan Walker’s replacement in the name of Matt Walker showing the Super B’s (Casa Sombres/Summerland) they need to bite a little and they both go to 1 and 1. Also a t 9:45 AM it was Generation Motors and Mr. Smooth (Curt Hughes) continuing their march and they stayed unbeaten at 2 and 0. In another game it was hard-riding Tony Garcia from the Philippines showing he still has the knack for attack as he and the Wolfman (Ashton Wolf) also go to 2 and 0. Parklane kept things in motion with a Win over Calgary and Casa Blanca left the L bracket and beat the Gray Ghost (Dempsey Mork of La Mancha) to also go to 1 and 1. Empire also came to 1 and 1 as they lost in OT to to Mr. Rivkin and his Double Eagle squad. PoloBARN sits at 2 and 0. If I got my info right as they beat Kenintfield. True Choice failed to equal and they fall to 0 and 2 as they wait for their big stick to open up a run and hit the turf with them. In the Prime time it was Mr. Horn (Palm Desert) showing his wares as he did what he wanted and made a lot of bigtime plays and blew by Friendly Chevrolet as was smoking down the line looking for a finals next Sunday. The fields played great and the weather was awesome. We could use some boards on field 1 and that would be nice, but all in all it was a great day for a 50 year old B-day of the El Dorado Polo Club
