Today is the first day of summer. It is also the finals of the Intra Circuit Cup at Santa Barbara Polo Club. It is quite a surprise you might say as both teams have been below par, especially the boys from Texas. After losing their first game of this USPA tournament quite soundly to Twin Palms, they came roaring back last Sunday stopped Farmers and Merchants. In a virtual Semis, they just hammered defending Champs Antelope/Film Finance and they get here with a 2 -1 record they beat A/FF in the heads up. On the other side it has been a solid, but not outstanding team, through all 3 tournaments. It has been the combo of Mexican Stars Alvaro and Rodrigo Fernandez joining up with Gracida’s Julio and hall-of-famer Memo. They have been unstoppable in this tournament so far. It comes down to Texas with a couple Argy’s vs Mexico. Texas’ John Muse, is Patron of Lucchese Team and also President of SBPC. Robert Payne is a Dallas Native and Nacho Badiola is son of former Super Star Juan Badiola Sr.
