Summer time Polo in Santa Barbara , CA and Calgary Polo Club . . you cannot be wrong if you like this game if you go to one of these destinations. The weather is awesome, the settings are different, so take your pick. Either the Rockies or the Pacific . . . it is simple. Just walk or swim because you know there will be Polo. Calgary has those amazing fields and the landscape that puts you in a really different place. Santa Barbara has the ocean air, the beach and it is 1 hour from Hollywood. Go a little bit farther south and you have horse racing, better beaches, a bigger City and they call this polo destination San Diego Polo Club. There is no comparison when it comes to East or West in the summer time. It rarely rains, we have great fields and 2 games a week for sure + a practice or two. The west coast is priced to make it comfortable, so what are you waiting for? Go west!
Right now things are happening in Calgary and Santa Barbara as San Diego is on a break for a few more days. Here in the southlands (the northern side) it’s going to be a very busy day as the Americas Cup see its second round. At 10 am it will start out very hot early on as Grant’s farm and Andy Busch take on Bullet Ben and Mansour. Both teams are first round losers, so they need a rebound. At the same time it is Audi and Mr. N Ganzi taking on Big Robert and Valiente. These teams both have a win under their belt, so it is a critical game. Audi changed their face when Mark took Melissia’s place and Valiente brought in superstar young gun Magoo Laprida, so they will be a little noise on the 10 am sides. At 1 pm its ERG and Mr. Woods taking on the Champs of Patagones so their will be plenty of fireworks at brunch time. Gonzalo and his boys will try to keep the l’s out of their history. At 3 pm its Zacara, 2007 champs, with their secret weapon called Lyndon taking on a win-less Lucchese. One will still be win-less at the end of the day. So no matter what its the place to be come Friday afternoon.
See ya there!
