The Prestonwood Polo Club just had the most fabulous WCT (Women’s Championship Tournament) event. Our next big event is our 6th Annual Polo on the Midway benefiting Bryan’s House. This event was the first event that the Ladies Polo Auxiliary ever produced, just months after forming. We’re proud to be assisting Bryans House in their care for babies and children with serious medical needs.
Polo on the Midway has a carnival theme and this year is on Halloween, so we’re going that way with the theme. Instead of bunnies, piglets and such we have a Reptile petting zoo, a spooky limo ride, bobbing for apples, trunk or treating and costume contest as well as the bounce houses and games and shopping vendors with the 2nd annual 380Guide Community Challenge cup final, the tourney starts this weekend!
Admission is $20 per car and tickets for attractions are $1 each or $10 for all day play stamp.

Prestonwood Polo Clubs WCT Report
LPA wins 1st WCT at Prestonwood Polo Club! Kim Snider, Danielle Travis, Bill Kraft, Sunny Hale and Carrie Spence. (Confused by the numbers on jerseys? Danielle borrowed Dena Millers dry shirt for the photo as she was soaked! Never let it be said that LPA sponsor won’t give one of her team members the shirt off her back!)
Prestonwood Polo Clubs 1st Women’s Championship Tournament event kicked off with a red carpet Gala at Prestonwood Country Clubs Creek location on Thursday Oct. 1. Soap actor, talk and game show host Ty Treadway kept the evening running smoothly. Abi Ferrin presented Spring 2010 fashions straight off the runways of New Yorks Fashion Week while Cuban/American artist Rolando Diaz performed LIVE. After dinner a Veuve Clicquot toast was made to Sunny Hale and a traditional Calcutta was held.

Friday, the games began, putting Pro Chukker over Catena and LPA over Walkerboy.com. People from all over the Metroplex came to watch the amazing women on the field Saturday. The consolation game put Catena winning over Walkerboy and the Ladies Polo Auxiliary members scurrying to deliver the Veuve Clicquot to the divot stompers before the rains came. Not long into the main match, LPA vs. Pro Chukker, the rains did come, but was a nice light rain, not a torrential downpour and the ladies on the field continued to play through it. At one point, Erica Gandomcars pony did slip but Erica did a great job of recovering, showing the fans what a great rider she is!
It was an intense game with Sunny Hale, the worlds highest rated female polo player, quickly putting two goals on the board for LPA in a manner of minutes, but Pro Chukker answered back and the tight game ended with LPA ahead 7-6. Pro Chukker’s Erica Gandomcar was named MVP and Andrea Walton’s steed, owned by Vaughn Miller, Latin Lover was named Best Playing Pony.
LPA hosted a barbecue, with libations from 10 Cane Rum, in the Pavilion, after the trophy presentation. Polo players from clubs all over the north Texas area came to see the girls play, well as polo fans and curiosity seekers. The ladies happily entertained them all!
Sunny Hale Polo Clinic at Prestonwood Polo Club
October 3rd Prestonwood Polo Club hosted a clinic held by world’s highest rated female polo player, Sunny Hale. 8 eager students took part in a 2 hour session on horseback in the arena and a Q and A with dry erase board in the pavilion after. Ladies Polo Auxiliary founder, Dena Miller, served refreshments and awarded each participant a golden trophy of completion as a memento.
