Zacara may start with the last letter of the Alphabet but it has been # 1 for a while in Polo and Faco P and Lyndon L own the top twos pots World Wide . Lyndon has already done more than any Patron in recent history maybe ever since the sport took up pros . He has won the two biggest prizes an Amateur can win and one twice and is headed to the finals of the other . I am talking about the US Open and the British Open there are no bigger prizes in the Polo world for a Patron . The combo this year has been Faco and the thing that has made this happen so quickly is the four legs under these teams . LL raised the bar in the World of Polo just as John Goodman raised the bar for fabulous clubs. Lyndon found Matt Gonzalez and he found the horses that made all this possible from the British Open 3 years ago when a no name team won it all to now when he found a Micheal Jordan of Polo Facundo Pieres and like the two men who were just ahead of him he is simply the best of his time not just a bit better but a lot better . 25 years ago it was Gonzalo Pieres and Peter Brant dominating US Polo then along came AC or Adolpho and Mr Gannon who by the way is said to be doing well after a bit of work on his Ticker . However none of these with the exception of KP as in Kerry Packer ever chose to go after both big ones on two continents as LL is doing the undertaking is huge and it all comes down to Horses and they have had a lot of them that were very good and obviously still do . How good we will see Sunday, no matter what in less than a decade he has made it happen and he is not 45 yet as 2013 has been a very good year US OPEN, QUEENS CUP finals of British Open ?
On the X factor I think the Gov. at Large is a fantastic idea I am not sure what we need but we need something to happen as Polo is a fading Sport the way it has been going our membership has continued to fall and our mentality of supporting the sport has disappeared if not for a few men Like Al Haagen , John Goodman, Peter Brant and Fred Mannix, Bob Jornayvaz and Melisia and Marc Ganzi to name a few we would just vanish . People and I am talking about our own almost refuse to spend the money to support these operations and then get angry when the pull back or quit being the gift bearer . I am not sure more bosses are needed but we do need something to grow this sport and it has not happened the way it is now and the fact is not everyone can play polo and I think that is what so many try to say . Face the facts it is like owning an airplane or a Yacht you do not really have to have it but you do have to be rich to own it and simply put POLO is a rich mans sport .
