Eight teams hit the ground running today and it was fun, fast polo for the most part. There are a lot of new faces. 8 divided by 2 is 4 and we started 4 games everyday in this league for a very beautiful trophy. It was a a double header at 10 a.m. Monte Verde outdid CNS/Princeps in the game on field 4. Down on field 5 it was Ms. Wilson and Adeptus with a very solid team from top to bottom. They gave Ohana and MS. Kelly Maloney an unfriendly start. At the head of the table and Ohana goes to 0 & 1 and Adeptus the oposite then on field 5 it was Big Rick Paicius and newcomer Theo Wakefield, out of Arizona I think, boosted the Surfer (Diego Cossio) and OC Polo to the winners circle over Dudley’s Casa Blanca who led for 3 chukkers. It was a good effort by both teams and a good lesson for Theo. Stirrups are made for your foot and they do make riding much more comfortable.
Then we all headed to field 3 for defending 6-goal Champs Marcus & Millichap from now on M&M to show their new squad. And they did as they rolled on over the Friendly/Surfer Doc and camp for their first win in Sept. 07. Sunday brings 7 big tournament games and it will provide a lot of views where ever you are at SD Polo. The featured match on Sunday will presents Pretty Lady Lisa Bosstick on her Birthday & Madison Square vs. Bones (Ron Bonaguidi) and Hanalei Bay. There will be a big one on a very tropical day but Monday’s a holiday. so it will be party time at SD tonight.
