The reason for this article is how much it reminds me of Polo. It is so close except in numbers, as there are not remote similarity that way. However, in talking to many people who have tried polo, it is a very similar story. There is no place to get past the clinics to a school that feeds the new people to the future. Houston and Mark Prinslo are probably the biggest and best near a big City. La Equestrian Center was easily the biggest in the last 25 years, but most of those Graduates have reached the retirement zone and we are not replacing them. I believe we need a couple of Academy’s one at least on both sides of the nation that a people can go to and learn the game. Maybe for 6 weeks a year and play the game and also people who live in the area could have an advantage. It needs to be where there are a lot of potential candidates. One I see, a very good start would be San Diego Polo. They are already there up for grabs a few million people and a place outsiders could enjoy as well. A perfect place for the USPA to start the West Coast Polo Academy. We are just like Golf in the fact that there are few areas to begin the sport of Polo to see if you want to continue as it is a very big investment.
