We are in south Fl. but it could have in Denver or Calgary and it would have been home to 3 of the 4 teams on board today. There is also a possibility Lechuza in Venezula is in the Southern Rockies if there is one I think it runs from Alaska to South Pole so who knows. Today’s 12 noon game was one of the best Polo games I have seen in a long time it was Bob Jornayvaz and Valiente 1 taking on Victor Vargas and Lechuza US Open defending Champs . They had a problem and it came in the form of Miguel Astrada and believe me you do not have to tell them they know it. Miguel has long been known as a very smooth operator but in the last 8 months most people see he is the Engineer and he does believe in on hands operation he has help no doubt Bob is very improved in his second year and he has Brother Nacho who knows the lay of the land and maybe the second most underrated player here Pablo Pieres who is dynamite on a stick and he will blow a hole thru anything and score to boot . Lechuza is no walk in the park as Victor Vargas is a very talented Patron and he has some help Sapo, Mr. Nero and a rocket named Obergon. So it was game on at High Noon and it looked like Valiente 1 was well smoking big lead 3 or 4 goals read Alex’s report it is right but The Owls were well lurking and they smoked Valiente1 the 4 and 5th but as usual there are 6 chukkars and after a super bad 3rd with Valiente missing 5 goal shots here comes Sapo and Nero and it is tied then the lead but Mr Astrada was not done and he knotted it up with some ticks left on the clock and it was OT and after a couple of minutes it was a foul that sent Miguel to the line and the rest is History. VALIENTE 1 is headed to the semis .
Game two was the feature and it was all Rocky Mountain the Mannix Brothers from Calgary the Canadian Rockies and Robert and the Valiente 2 and the Silver Bullets of Colorado Rockies and they were rockets today the Mannix boy’s were tough early but when you add it up it was trouble Robert Jornayaz to me the most underrated player in South Fl. with the best Player in the World and one not far behind , you have a problem and Alegria of the Canadian Rockies might have thought it would have been nice to be home today as they were in a whiteout the last 3 chukkars the Mannix boys played well but they were in the wrong place today as AC was , well showing he is not doing bad in his 28 th year in Palm Beach. They both head to the Semis and no they do not play each other yet. I think it is only right to thank Victor Vargas for putting up a fantastic field for the Noon game and many thanks to Mr Juan Visamill for having it amazing . Most people who go to Polo have no idea how tough it is to make it happen you deal with so many things dirt is simple it is there but it has to hold grass grow grass not slip not tear up and deal with 8 super egos blaming it for well. anything they do wrong . Hats off to Ray Mooney and Juan and all the rest of these Men who often do not exist but we exist only because they do MAKE IT HAPPEN.
