The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

It all started on Friday and at the end of the day today ,Sunday, it was guaranteed. Next week will be a fun three days of hard polo.  I have answered very little, but for sure 4 teams are still in the running for the finals of the 2010 Spreckels Cup.  Only Casa Blanca, holders of the last cup the Willis Allen, are out of the running because after an OT win on Friday they ran into the blazing Guns of Fast-etta and the Collins Gang, who lost a heart breaker to Casa Blanca  in the last tournament by a single goal. This was after Chris Collins 2 tried trick riding upside down with both feet in the stirrups and came out in second place. This time he was right side up and doing his thing at 9 – 0 and making it happen.

I think he did well in the Crash and Burn Party on Friday, which as usual, is a down right wild night which started years ago by Tom Goodspeed. Not sure if their is 1 or 2 o’s in his name, but it is fun, fun, fun San Diego-style.  They do have a very good time all the time here in San Diego.  It is polo the old-fashioned way… you Enjoy it.

Also on Friday it was LaPasion/Kalypso stepping on Monteverde and getting a big WIN for their side. Sat. brought out Silent Chris Maloney and the Doctor, now 2 of them with a real Surgeon called Rick Paicius helping the Doctor Gaston Von Wernich dissect Mr. Ward and Ramon and San Ysidro/San Judas as Tritech/Trinty took the win. Then it was party time.

Then it was on to Sunday and it was a big surprise as as Hanalei Bay/South Winds took out Casa Blanca, who went into overtime on Friday, but still stopped Mrs. Joy and StarMeadow to make it very interesting. Now with all three teams still with a chance, but Casa Blanca on the outside looking in as if HB/SW wins it’s a no brainier there.  If SM wins it will come down to goals, but CB is on 0 and not a thing ahead.   It is just 0 and net goals.

Also on Sunday in the early game it was Tri Tech Trinity winning over Monteverde/Adeptus despite a big effort by Ms. Wilson. The firepower of LaPasion/Kalypso got back on track leading to a win over San ysidro/San judas, so they head to a showdown with the Docs and TT+T on Friday so if you want to have fun and be where the action is BE THERE.

See ya
