Opening Day- Sunday, June 9, 2013
San Diego Polo Club (SDPC) kicks off its 14-week summer polo season on Sunday, June 9th with the Rancho Santa Fe Cup Tournament. Sponsors include Land Rover of San Diego, Porsche of San Diego, RIVIERA Magazine and Max Mara. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. for two action-packed matches at 1 and 3 pm. for an estimated 2,500 spectators.
Join in the excitement of Opening Day as ponies and players take to the main field at the San Diego Polo Club located at 14555 El Camino Real on the border of Del Mar and Rancho Santa Fe. General Admission Tickets are $10 per adult (children under 12 are free). Parking is $5 per car or $20 for valet, and tailgating spots are $25 per car and include the entry fee.
There’s something for everyone each week at Sunday Polo, with 2 matches, live music, a full bar, bistro, VIP seating, and tailgating on the east side of the field. Spectators and social members come to enjoy the energy, food, music, friends and the thrilling sport of polo.
For those not keeping track of the score, there is the annual Opening Day Fashion Show presented by Max Mara. The 7th Chukker After Party presented by Max Mara kicks off after the trophy presentation and lasts until sundown.

History of San Diego Polo Club
San Diego’s polo roots date back to 1906 when the first California match was held in Coronado. The first John D. Spreckels match was in 1909. Seventy years later, Willis Allen and Harry Collins established the San Diego Polo Club in 1986. The San Diego Polo Club offers five world-class polo fields on 60 acres of land. Located in Rancho Santa Fe,
California, the club attracts professional polo players from around the globe. The club with 35 founding members and nearly 100 social members invites the public on Sundays during their 14-week tournament season from June-September.
