It’s a stick from 51 inches long to 53 and it is a very dangerous weapon in the hands of some people. Ask Andy Busch, he already knows “Nick the Stick” (Nick Roldan) from the time he was just a stick without the Nick. Nick arrived in Santa Barbara as a sub and leaves as Super Carrier. He was the death of Grant’s Farm today, who have two of the best North American players, but it was not enough. Roldan came in with no pressure, very good horses and a team without a Patron, who is also being substituted with another player due to injuries. Well Nick did it like only “Nick the Stick” can do and killed ‘em on the corners and the straight-aways. He had some top help from 3 very determined players. Martin Munoz played the game of his career stopping Young Gun Cachi in his tracks and doing a lot of damage all day long. Pablo S. came to the table and it was a very tough day for Jeff Hall as he had very little help and a weird plan to be here and came out down by one or two. It was a great game to watch and it was exciting for most of it. Jeff’s speed versus the power of Nick, who are no doubt the best two American players today.

If polo was your plan today or if not, it was a Party because there was a lot of it today. It started in the heavens of Piocho Ranch without the Boss, who was in Santa Barbara PC at the time, even though he probably wished he was having waffles at the ranch. Audi and Mark Ganzi continued their trip to the 3rd finals with their 24-goal team. Audi rolled over Dan Walker and Jeff Blake of Long Beach by a few. While here at the Sea, it was Zacara with more cripples than not. All compliments of Friday night gone wild. They were still rockin’ as they blew by Piocho and it was not a fun game, but it showed amazing horses. Memo Gracida is mounted and Tom Barrack is well-mounted, but they are still dreaming about being mounted like Lyndon Lea. He looks like he is in an Indy Car at NASCAR about 40-miles an hour faster. He must be the best-mounted player on the planet today. If you disagree bring ‘em here and we shall see.

In the second game at the Club it was Lucchese showing their improving power as they went by Big Mike and Lady Melisia by a couple. It lead to # 2 on the WIN side for Lucchese and Big John, who had a big run to stop the momentum of Mikey in the 6th. He scored 3 goals in 3 minutes to tie it up. The Palomino (Jason Crowder) came out fired-up and was a great support for C.G. and the blues. It all lead to the final game of the day, which is already history. No report from down south except there is only 1 team with 1 loss and its Ms. Kelly and Ohana, but there is one more round for the finals.

So get off your couch as Olympics are over and come to polo. Ignore the refs. and enjoy the day, because the sun will shine. Talk about the sun will shine and smile, if you think of it there are 2 things that bring peace to our World and they are both very simple and have always been here. Concerts such as the Coachella Fest. or 1,000 others. Everyone is happy and they come from everywhere. Evil and good is never a problem. Let the world fly by me. In the Olympics there are people from everywhere on the planet and everyone wants to win, yet they are never pulling guns or knives or brass knuckles, they are just disappointed or sad, but just good about if they lost or if they won. It was FUN, so lets make it a game. If you want my whatever, lets play for it, sing for it and be happy!

The next round of the PCO is Thursday and its like this:

10 a.m. Grants farm vs Grand champion @ Piocho Ranch

10 a.m. @ the club Zacara vs ERG
1.30 p.m. Lucchese vs Long Beach
