Texas Military Polo Club and San Antonio Polo Club Present the
Second Annual Teddy Roosevelt Inter-Service Polo Match
Special Event to Raise Money for Operation Comfort, www.operationcomfort.org
WHAT: Texas Military Polo Club and San Antonio Polo Club are inviting area residents to the Second Annual Teddy Roosevelt Inter-Service Polo Match Sunday, May 4, in Bulverde, Texas. Proceeds from the event will go to support Operation Comfort.
Operation Comfort provides support to our Service Members who have been wounded in Afghanistan or Iraq and are receiving treatment at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and Audie Murphy Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Wounded Service Members from all over the United States recover in San Antonio.
The special event will feature two exciting polo matches, starting at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. CDT, which will showcase the longstanding relationship between the military and sport of polo. In addition to some great polo action on the field, there will also be live music at 2:30 p.m for fans and attendees to enjoy.
The Second Annual Teddy Roosevelt Inter-Service Polo Match is sanctioned by the U.S. Polo Association (USPA), the sport’s national governing body, and being in held in conjunction with the organization’s efforts to endorse military polo and raise funds for military charities. The USPA’s Armed Forces Polo Committee, in recognition of the great history and connection between the sport of polo and our Armed Forces, is working to expand opportunities and events to perpetuate the tie between the armed forces and polo communities.
