ARGENTINE ORGANIZATIONS HOST DAY AT OAK BROOK POLO

Oak Brook, IL…The Oak Brook Polo season has been extended until Sunday, September 16, when an afternoon of polo and cultural activities is planned at the Oak Brook Polo Club.

Beginning at 1 p.m., the Argentine-American Midwest Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Argentina will host the fourth-annual Argentine-American Chamber Polo Cup, with the USA team competing against Argentina. Professional players from Argentina will compete with Chicago-area players in the tournament.

Traditional Argentine food, prepared by the well-known Chicago-area Argentine restaurant, Tango Sur, and the popular Buenos Aires Forever bakery, will be available for purchase. Food items include an authentic asado (barbecue), empanadas and other customary fare. A wine tasting of Argentine wines will take place in the tent.

In addition, Argentine polo jerseys and jewelry will be available for purchase.
The consul generals of Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay will be in attendance, as well as representatives of the Argentine American Midwest Chamber of Commerce and other Argentine organizations. The event is sponsored by General Casualty Insurance.

General admission tickets are available at the gate and are $10 adults; $5 senior citizens. Children under 13 and parking are free.

Entrance to the polo grounds is at 31st Street and Polo Drive, one-half mile west of York Road in Oak Brook. Bring a lawn chair for seating. Dress is casual and everyone is welcome.
