Greetings to all Corporate Sponsors and Supporters of 302 Polo!
As you well know, we are gearing up for an exciting season of polo in Aiken! We have two NAPL sanctioned 20 goal tournaments scheduled to kick off the season and have a few changes that are needed to accommodate our players and their horses.
20 goal polo is extremely demanding on our players and horses alike, and to be able to give them sufficient time for recovery between games and to keep the tournament at the best competitive level possible, we have had to implement several schedule changes.
The USPA Monty Waterbury presented by Morgan Stanley is set to start on Saturday, September 20th. We will not have a Friday Night Fiesta on the 26th, instead we are going to do something a little different! We are planning a Thursday Night Tango on Thursday, September 25th. This will, of course, be the same format as a Friday Night Fiesta and hope that all will attend to kick off the weekend a day early! In addition, due to the overlapping of the USPA Monty Waterbury and the USPA Silver Cup tournaments, we are having a Wednesday Night Wing Ding for the Semi-Finals of the USPA Monty Waterbury on Wednesday the 1st of October. The Finals of the USPA Monty Waterbury presented by Morgan Stanley will be held on Sunday, October 5th at New Bridge Polo and Country Club.
Going forward with the USPA Silver Cup presented by Mercedes-Benz of Augusta, the schedule will continue with the Thursday Night Tango’s through the 15th of October to accommodate our players and their mounts.
Our regular schedule of Friday Night Fiesta’s will resume on the 24th of October.
I hope that all involved with 302 Polo and our tournaments understand that our players and their horse’s safety are of the utmost importance to us and also please understand the need for the schedule changes.
