The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder
It should be a very good day to play polo. It might be a little humid, but about 75 degrees is the expected temp today. It will be an All-American team. This does not happen often. Klentner Ranch is taking on Farmers and Merchants Bank. Both teams bring a good mix of age and youthful players. Both teams get physical. F&M has 8-goal Lucas Criado runnin’ the show. He is fast and sometimes clever, not to mention well-mounted. Criado has Patron Dan Walker at # 1 and he will create some holes. They also are playing with well-mounted young gun Remy. In the #2 spot he will take a man all day and still swat the ball thru the goal. On the back door they have a hard-riding Obregon named Geromino. He can go from 4 to 1 asap and will. Across the line, which they finally decided to use in SB after 3 months, you have the Yanks. Their leader is LA’s Justin Klentner and he will be at # 1. He will block a little and has decent speed behind him. They will have plenty of speed with Jesse Bray, who was born to run and bump. He will bother LC often. This may be the best match up today as neither give in and LC may be a little louder. JB will be faster. At quarterback they have former 10-goal Mike Azzaro, who is not as fast as he thinks, but still very tough. He will be on attack all day right or wrong because. The team has a young Texan at back, who is not big, but you think he is Ben Kruger. He likes to keep the door shut and does often. We will see the red flag today. I just hope it is a lot better than the semi finals Friday at 4. That was not something to see ever.
San Diego is in the dark for another week or two. Silent Chris Maloney is fishing and water skiing in Michigan and Ashton is surfing. Tati and Mark are watching polo in SB.
