The Sport of Kings returns to Las Vegas after a 30 year absence. Sixteen polo players and over one hundred polo ponies will compete in the Las Vegas Polo Classic.
The Las Vegas Polo Classic will be held at the Star Nursery Field at Sam Boyd Stadium on February 9, 2008 to benefit the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation Moneys from this event will be dedicated to the study of spinal cord regeneration and to the development of therapies to promote the recovery of individuals who suffer from disabilities due to traumatic injuries to the spinal column, or from diseases affecting it.
The Eldorado Polo Club will play host to the preliminary matches leading up to the Las Vegas Polo Classic. The Eldorado Polo Club in Indio, California is the largest polo club in the United States. Each year 350 polo players and 2000 head of horses descend on the Desert. Next January eight teams will compete throughout the month for a chance to play in the final of the Las Vegas Polo Classic. The four teams with the best win loss record will come to Las Vegas to compete for $50,000 in prizes.
This star studded event will feature celebrities on and off the field. The VIP area will have seating for 1000. VIP tickets include admission to the Polo Village (high end boutiques), two incredible polo games, champagne divot stomp, Jack Russell races, jazz band and fashion show, As the guests arrive around 1:00 PM they will receive an envelope with a combination for our treasure hunt. Inside the Polo Village (high-end boutiques) guests will have the opportunity to try their combinations on a dozen treasure chests. Should their combination open a treasure chest they will win prizes ranging from jewelry to airline tickets to hotel packages to designer outfits to art.
At 1:30 PM guests will be treated to their first polo match an exciting four-chukker game. At half time between the first and second game, attendees will join in the traditional champagne divot stomp. At 3:00 PM our second exciting polo game will be played. Each game will feature international polo players.
