In the first year of its title sponsorship of the legendary German Polo Masters on Sylt, the private bank Berenberg succeed not only a great polo event, but also a brilliant victory in the final. By 11-6, team Berenberg with Peter Kienast, Santiago Gomez, Jo Schneider and Tatu Gomez Romero gained a clear victory against König Immobilien Sylt with Estelle Wagner, Philipp Sommer, Miguel Amieva and Patrick Maleitzke. Both teams with a team handicap of +8 started with a good lead into the final. From the third chukker, team Berenberg and especially the 4-goaler Tatu Gomez Romero, was way out in front. Jo Schneider, who launched the German Polo Masters in 1998, scored the final goal.

In the third-place match, team König Pilsener with Reinhold Hoffmann, Joe Reinhardt, Cristobal Durrieu and Nacho Garrahan came out on top by 9-4 against team Lafina / POLO+10 (Magnus Kaminiarz, Sergio Magrini, Juan Correa and the Dutchman Pablo van den Brink).
Fifth place secures team Lanson with Matthias Grau, Christian Grimme, Agustin Kronhaus and Thomas Winter, also by 9-4 against team Mr. Porter (Frank Mauersberger, Susi Rosenkranz, Federico Heinemann and Eduardo Anca).
Top-class, fast polo and a great achievement of the grooms and organizers who had to fight in the days before the final against adverse weather conditions. The biggest exhibition area yet with new brands and partners delighted the audience. Organizer Kiki Schneider, who is celebrating with the latest issue of Berenberg German Polo Masters her 10th anniversary as the organizer of the island chukker: “We have received very positive feedback and want to thank very much all sponsors, partners and players.
