With the mercury hanging all around the 3 digits it was for sure a day for a ice cold Bud. I am sure some was green, but most of all it was cold. Polo was not cold and it was a very humid day as well, but down the field they ran.
Little Joe Anthony and His Rancho Amistad swept on by Melody Oaks in the 4-goal as the Wolfman (Ashton Wolf) and Juan Jo (Juan Jose Gonzalez) kept the pressure on all day. Rancho Amistad sailed into the finals where they meet the young guns “Nick the Stick 2” and and Tomas Obregon of Monteverde, who also ran through their bracket undefeated. Mrs.Ellen Greenhill and her team Monteverde are hungry, but the Cowboys of Rancho Amistad will be tough. That is really the only finals today as in the Officer’s Cup 8-Goal finals is really just the final game of the League. I think Friendly Chevrolet continued their winning ways as Mr. Smooth (Curt Hughes) sent son Lance down for a holiday and he kept it rolling. Lance just lowered the age of the young guns of Friendly Chevy and they did burn the house yesterday as they smoked Casa Blanca by several I hear.
In the biggie . . . the 2-goal rather than write about dust and ruins I will write about the future. Do not laugh, it is where polo is going here in the desert. In a round Robin it was Hanalei Bay getting a weekend win over Atlant and Evergreen. World Polo must gave rolled OC Polo. Flowers Farm teeing off on Delta as Mr. Flowers got his midgets moving and lit up the field at Empire. I am not sure what Mr, Jax did but he takes on OC and the Rick & Robin today.The Goodeye (Ernie Ezcurra) keeps them headed Eeast or West at the goal.
It was a good day at La Quinta Polo as well. Funny thing is here in the desert at La Quinta they have no electricity yet and lots of water and green grass. At EDPC we have electricity and no water. They need to get it equalized and we can have nite polo on green grass and fool them all.
