Stirring the pot of polo and politics
We have learned about politics in polo as its just part of the deal. In real life it might be worse or at least in the U.S. I was listening to the news tonight and they said we may have to cut the budget in this state and what they expected to cut was POLICE, TEACHERS, FIREMEN and probation officers. This is all caused because people are not buying houses so sales taxes are weak. All of this came out after last week when EXXON and the rest of the oil companies showed the biggest profits ever making history, yet we have to cut taxes and pay excessive prices for gas and diesel. The Government cannot tax them because they will not be able to explore for new oil. Is that a whole bucket of BS or what? Next they will tell us that the Police and Firemen will not be working in their residential areas only the poor areas. This is also hurting everything from Starbucks to Mom and Pop grocery stores.
The Good ‘ole boys taking care of business and we think the East coast rapes the West coast in polo? Maybe we should hire the VP to run polo so we do not have to pay for it. I personally think most of all the crooks are the politicians and lawyers who probably were the latter first. They spend all this time trying to send Barry Bonds , Clements and who knows who all else to jail. I guess and cannot figure out how to tax Exxon-Mobile-Shell-or the VP’s favorite Halliburton because they want publicity and if they mess with the big boys they might get hurt.
I read the other day where the economists figure a barrel of oil should be about 60 dollars a barrel that leaves the oil companies with 20% profit 40 dollars barrel for taxes and maybe cut everyone else’s taxes or use it to educate people. This would give us good politicians and protection (police, fire, etc.) and doctors and less lawyers.
If we use 10 million barrels of oil a day in this country which with diesel we probably do as that’s 55 million gallons we could have 80 million a day for all the public teachers, doctors, police, firemen we need because that would be about 2.4 billion a month or 28 billion a year and that’s just from the oil people. I also see where for 19 years Exxon has avoided paying fine or restoration for Valdez oil spill. It was a 2 billion dollar fine how much interest is that and how many lawyers retired since it started or went into politics. We could cure the Lawyer problem by implementing . . . if they do not win they do not get paid. Its like a bad horse. If he does not play well you sell him or get rid of him or her.
I also read an article recently about immigration in Australia, which would really suit this country. The Prime Minister of Australia made it a rule that if you moved or immigrated to Australia you have to learn to speak their tongue, follow their rules or the outgoing door is open. Just leave. As the story said “we did not ask you in so you are here because you want to be. Its up to you. Either do it our way or go away.” Not an exact quote, but it was something like that. I like it!
The U.S. is already becoming one of the least educated countries in the real world and we want to cut teachers out? It is all Politics so we will continue to think they are smart.
With Polo and my predictions I was wrong from my last report about the PTF and East Coast people. At least one of the East coast robbers stayed for part of the weekend and he also told me on Saturday night that 80% of the money taken Thursday night comes back to the West coast. He said we would see it in writing soon. I look forward to that and I think it should be 80% of all of it as I think the Beal foundation still matches the funds raised here which was $170 some grand, so that’s $340 grand, so we can expect a big check for the West coast. It would be like $170 grand should help the West a little. I think we really get 10% of the balance to pay Steve Lane and each club has to charge each player so I am not sure if we even get the 10%, but hey we get what we pay for. Its cheap and we get a free magazine occasionally, a rule book 6 months late with a card and our name tag. So as the USPA says “be happy.” We are still in the USA, but we are not needed for the good polo we fly that in.
That’s my opinion and everyone has one too I’m sure. See ya.
