Polo America has just taken over the polo operation at Storm Branch Equestrian on Storm Branch Road in Aiken. Their goal is to offer fun polo at an affordable price.
The first games will be played in May. To kick off the season they will be hosting a four goal / four chukker $6000 Skins Polo Game tournament from May 7-30, 2010. Teams will play the first three weeks of May to determine who will play in the two Skins Polo Games. The two teams with the best win loss record will play a Skins Polo Game for $4000 in prizes, the third and fourth best teams will play a Skins Polo Game for $2,000 in prizes. (Prizes range from Revo Sunglasses to gift certificates from Tackeria, Aiken Hay Farms, Banks Mill Feed, Aiken County Farm Supply and Lionel Smith) In a Skins Polo Game each chukker is a game. If the two teams tie in one chukker the prizes or money rolls over into the next chukker and so forth until someone wins the chukker.
The team entry fee is either $400 or $1500. If your team is willing to play under one of our sponsors team shirts for the month of May the entry fee is only $400. Due to the low tournament fee, players will have duties ranging from flagging to third man to umpiring (umpires will be paid $25 per game). Professional umpires will be hired for the two Skins Polo Games. All three polo fields will be used for tournament play. All entrants may purchase a stick and ball fee in April for $100.
Each team will play two games per week either on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. The finals will be played on May 30th. Players must wear whites at all games.

Fees:
Skins Polo Games ($6000 cash and prizes): The team entry fee is either $400 or $1500. If your team is willing to play under one of our sponsor’s team shirts for the month of May or October the entry fee is only $400. Professional umpires will be hired for the two Skins Polo Games. All three polo fields will be used for tournament play. Entrants may purchase a stick and ball fee in April for $100. Limit eight teams.
Green Horse Polo: $200 per month or $450 for all three months. Chukkers will be played Wednesday – Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM
September and November: Monthly fee of $175 per player includes club chukkers and Four Goal Tournament.
Four Goal / 4 Chukker tournaments: $100 per player per tournament
o Due to the low tournament fee, players will have duties ranging from flagging to third man to umpiring (umpires will be paid $25 per game). Duties will be performed on the same day as you play.
o All playing fees must be paid in advance
o Players must wear whites at tournament games and weekends
