White Birch 9-goaler Mariano Aguerre will be trying to shut down Airstream’s Kris Kampsen over the course of Sunday’s game. Kampsen has scored 18 goals in the last two games for a total of 24 goals in just three matches.
White Birch (Santino Magrini, Hilario Ulloa, Mariano Aguerre and Peter Brant) enters Sunday morning’s game against Airstream with a perfect 3-0 record. Airstream (Ben Lynch, Matias Magrini, Kris Kampsen and Guille Aguero) currently sits at 2-1 and Goose Creek carries a 3-1 record. If White Birch wins Sundays match they will face Goose Creek (Maureen Brennan, Tomas Garcia Del Rio, Mariano Gonzalez and Marcos Garcia Del Rio) in the final of the 2016 USPA Monty Waterbury Cup. If White Birch loses there will be a three-way tie between White Birch, Airstream and Goose Creek with identical 3-1 records, triggering a three-man shootout following the 3pm match with one player from each of the three teams attempting penalty shots to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. The top two finishers will meet in Wednesday’s 5pm Monty Waterbury Cup final. The three remaining teams will play a subsidiary round-robin game at 2pm.
Sunday’s 3pm contest will feature Postage Stamp (Annabelle Gundlach, Brandon Phillips, Nick Manifold and Joao Paolo Ganon) and Beluga (Chris Brant, Naco Taverna, Tommy Biddle and Salvador Ulloa), each looking for their first win of the tournament.
