Polo fans celebrated Mother’s Day in style on May 10th at the Houston Polo Club.  Neiman Marcus, a long time supporter of Houston’s polo scene, hosted a spring fashion show and gave out goody bags for the moms in the crowd. The Monart Art school was also on hand to keep things fun for the younger crowd at the Childrens’ Chukker.

The Houston Audi Dealers were on hand to throw in the ball as Tonkawa and Magnolia Farms faced off in a fast and furious 8-goal match. Tom Gose’s (1) Magnolia Farms team of Mark Prinsloo (3) and Steve Krueger (2), along with John Alexander (1), fell by just one goal in the 6th chukker to Tonkawa’s Jeff Hildebrand (0), Paul Hobby (0), Jamie Mirikitani (4) and Jimmy Seward (3). Collegiate player Steve Krueger scored all of Magnolia Farm’s goals from the field, but lost out to Mirikitani’s goal in the last 30 seconds of the 6th to finish off a very close game 7-6 in favor of Tonkawa. Neiman Marcus presented the day’s awards to both teams. Mirikitani was awarded the Maker’s Mark “Shot of the Day” for his winning goal.
