There is probably no better known face in polo than that of Black Watch 6-goaler Nacho Figueras. The charismatic face of Ralph Lauren’s entire line of Polo fragrances.
From the playing fields of Argentina to the reaches of the Far East, Nacho Figueras has appeared on behalf of charities that have served to benefit the peoples of a diverse number of countries, the most publicized of which might have been his appearance in the annual Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic,
an event that is recorded to have raised nearly $400,000 for Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale. The charity raises funds in support of African orphans in Lesotho.
On Sunday, August 1, Nacho Figueras will serve as the Honorary Host and Team Captain for The Argentine Bicentennial Polo Match that will benefit Cruzada Argentina and HelpArgentina.
The 4 pm polo match will take place at The Meadowbrook Polo club, 1 Polo Drive, Old Westbury, New York. (Go to www.helpargentina.org/en/poloevent) for a map and directions.
General Admission is $25.00 per person with VIP tickets available for $150.00 for premiere viewing and private reception.
Cruzada Argentina promotes the development of rural communities through productive projects and training that will generate work related skills and attitudes. Cruzada Argentina will use the proceeds of this event to expand a rural school that currently serves 91 students out of a 3 room tin shed in Santa Ana, Corrientes. This project will construct a 250 square meter permanent structure that will provide a vastly improved learning environment and eliminate the need to schedule classes in shifts.
