… IN NOT SANTA BARBARA NOT MONTECITO, BUT IN CARPINTERIA
The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

Carpinteria is home of the safest beaches in the world and also home of the Santa Barbara Polo Club for the last 100 years. It is just east of the big names like Santa Barbara and Montecito,  but it has been a horse and avocado kingdom for as long as people can remember. The odd thing is they do not mix. Both are bad for the other with deadly consequences, but I doubt many people will care about that today.  There is a big crowd  expected as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be the biggest draw ever at the Santa Barbara Polo Club. I am sure the crowd may be may be bigger by far then the 1998 Polo World Cup game.

It will be quite a show I do believe , even though the British Open is being played as I write with the Piere’s Brothers leading the charge in the Quarter finals. Att the end of 4 La Bama de Areo is winning over Sumaya in the first of 3 big games as the biggest tournament in Europe winds down to the final week with the finals coming next Sunday. Well if you are close to the glamor in town enjoy it.  If not watch it on TV as I am sure there is plenty of press in town and today the crowd at Santa Barbara Polo Club will be bigger than San Diego PC which will be a first this year.  Well done SIR.

see ya
