The United States Polo Association (USPA) today announced that this Thanksgiving, polo will reach horse enthusiasts across the country in the comfort of their homes. HRTV, the network for horse sports, will rebroadcast the historic Westchester Cup at 7:30 PM Eastern and the US Open at 10:30 PM Eastern.  In the U.S., the HRTV television network is available via cable and satellite in over 19 million homes (viewers can find the channel in their area by visitinghttp://www.hrtv.com/schedule/find-hrtv/).

“With an established audience of horse lovers across America, HRTV is a great fit for polo,” said Peter Rizzo, CEO of the United States Polo Association. “We are very excited about this broadcast opportunity and what it means for the future of polo being broadcast regularly in the United States.”

First played in 1886, the Westchester Cup is considered the oldest and most prestigious competition in international polo.  The storied competition between the USA and England was held at the historic Guards Polo Ground at Windsor Great Park in Surrey, England, and was attended by His Royal Highness, Prince Charles. The USPA Maserati 109th U.S. Open Polo Championship, held at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, FL, is the “Super Bowl” of polo, and will showcase the world’s top players vying for the national championship title.
