POLO AND THE WORLD WE LIVE IN.

I believe I have a very inexpensive answer for our Armed Services. Maybe Halliburton will object, but with my own eyes I watched 60,000 people in 100 degree heat and a blazing sun with not a lot of room. These people were of all colors, creed and ages. This event went on for 16 hours more or less with plenty of alcohol and who knows what else. There was no violence and I mean NONE! The answer is music. I mean often and very loud, louder than any firearm in Iraq. I believe if they had Empire Polo Club’s organizational ability and made a concert (like the Coachella Fest in Indio) free and it would be the cost of one helicopter. If this happened we might have troops trading guns and ammo for CD’s. I was truly amazed how peaceful 60 thousand strangers of all races and ages as well a huge portion of foreigners could be in one place. You cannot put 20 polo players together in that kind of heat without a shred of violence off the field and on the field. It would be at least 3 in an hour.

I am not a fan of concerts as I think a radio is much easier to hear and you can turn it off at anytime. I do not know how many bands played during the 12 hours or more the Coachella Fest ran in a 100 + degree weather. There were lots of sunburns and yet so peaceful. Indio has only a few more people and has more violence every night than this concert had. Even the traffic is quicker during the concert weekend. Of these 60 thousand people you have to assume there are 40 thousand more cars on the local roads and this does not count the thousands of vendor workers and security with all the workers to make it happen including all the entertainers. Maybe we should run the Festival leaders for Govt. Offices. We do not even have to subsidize them. Oh, by the way, this was not a one night stand. It went on for 3 days in the same weather and conditions and there were at least 60 thousand people here each day.

In the Polo World its happening. The new world of San Diego is exploding players who like to have fun. San Diego is a fun place to go. The Club wants new people to come and play and they are willing to open the doors for new things. Their barns are full and looking for more room to put incoming players. Its all because they are looking for the new and better polo not building a doormat for the sport where no one plays good polo. They are building the sport !!!

Just to entertain you . . .

At first I thought this was funny…then I
realized the awful truth of it.

Be sure to read all the way to the end!
Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he’s fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won’t be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He’s good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he’s laid.

Put these words
upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom…”

When he’s gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100
years ago, and our nation was
the most prosperous in the world. We had
absolutely no national debt, had
the largest middle class in the world, and Mom
stayed home to raise the kids.

What the h*** happened? Can you spell
“politicians!”

And I still have to “press 1” for English. I hope
this goes around THE USA at least 100 times.
