. . . with the biggest one of 2009 thus far. It was as big as it gets in the final springtime tournament in Santa Barbara and it was the final two games of the season.  It was bound to be fun and it was. In the consolation finals it was Windsor Capital and Long Beach without Henry Walker which helped Windsor.  As usual it became a battle as it was nip and tuck until the final chukker. Windsor put it away.

It was fun to see Ken Berry, who has been involved with Santa Barbra for at least 35 years. I have been here that long. He and Pat Nesbitt went after each other in the Consolation Finals.  Both had good games as well.

The feature game was at 3 pm.  As expected it was filled with hard-ball polo as the Boys & Girl of La Kirina were here for their final game in Santa Barbara.  They head back to the hills of Santa Fe after this one.  They had a good record over Piocho, not great but good.  Piocho had the ranch hands in town to help them and they were ready to howl. It was La Kirina drawing first blood in the first minutes of the game as the Lawman, Matt Ladin, got caught trying to steal from Santi and it was quickly 2 and 0.  Then Piocho came right back to go up 3 to 2.  They then stumbled around in the 3rd and got smacked around by La Kirina’s  MVP  and Patron Brian Boyd.  La Kirina left the field at 1/2 time up by 3 or 4, but Piocho had some strong Gatorade at the break and came back and tied it in the 4th and went up by 3 and ended up by 2.  There were some huge saves by TJ to clear it out of the goal mouth. The 6th started great for Pioch as they got up by 4 and then La Kirina woke up and blistered the scoreboard with 3 goals and had two very likely goals by penalties miss and the final bell rang with Piocho Ranch the 2009 champs.

We would like to thank from IPC the La Kirina team for coming this summer and thanks to some very nice people Mr. & Mrs. Brian Boyd, the Patron, and also Mr. and Mrs. Santi Wulf who were very popular here. Also thank you to Fernando with the steady smile and the determined  Paige Beard  who just kept on ticking. So long all and see you next year we hope and bring some friends .
