for some reason this year and it is fantastic there are 14 teams competing for a Cup that is named after maybe the toughest Patron who ever lived . They called him Wild Bill with a reason he was tough as boot leather and he loved the game and made it huge in the US when he built Palm Beach Polo he did it . Not a lot of us around to remember but he was the reason it is still here as big as it is , Well done William .
The weird thing in this cup so far is 14 teams all ranked from 18 to 20 goals and well after 7 games the scores have been on the average over 6 goals a game difference of the 7 2 have been 1 goal so 5 have been worse . Why ? I have not figured it out yet and cannot until we have a round 2 . Some say it is horses but not sure there are some amzing horses here on some teams Valiente is amazing but so are some others Tonkawa and Coke but could it be youth maybe but Cambiaso,Criado,Aguerre make that wrong Horseware- Tackeria well that is young and too hungry , so it will be fun to see and try toguess what it is these defeats are huge so something is wrong when you say handicaps are right some say it is umpires which i doubt I do think they are a bit weak but that lopsided . Will have a better idea tomorrow as 6 teams play and 2 nd round done by Sat. night . The amazing thing here is there is awesome Polo and it is an amazing place but the cost the set up people travel 50 to 100 miles with Horses to games they deal with very inconsistent weather amazing cost of feed as the closet growers for horse feed are at least 1200 miles away so it has sooo much freight and cost storage is an amazing problem due to weather , stabling 600 a stall per mo, it adds up and I think People need to look West as we have it all and so much better all we need is the Players they wil think Empire Polo is IPC and never look back and all they have to do is look up and say WOW it is 85 degrees and I can see the snow and be there in an hour by car or the kids want g go to the beach ok will be there in 90 minutes by car and you will never travel 10 miles to Polo and usually 10 minutes on your horse we have 20 polo fields in a 5 mile square
