10-goaler Facundo Pieres won the 2013 US Open and then swept the European high-goal season this year.

Currently ranked as the top polo player in the world, Argentine 10-goaler Facundo Pieres returns to the United States after sweeping the European high-goal season with wins in the Queens Cup and the British Open and Spain’s Silver and Gold Cups.

Facundo’s last appearance in the United States came as a member of Lyndon Lea’s US Open Championship Zacara team.  The sweep of the European season gave Facundo five consecutive high-goal championships.

Facundo Pieres will lead a Royal Salute team that will include his brother-in-law Mariano Aguerre, Steve Lefkowitz and Peter Brant.  Royal Salute will face Peter Orthwein’s Airstream lineup (Peter Orthwein, Naco Taverna, Matias Magrini and Nick Manifold) in the 3PM contest at Connecticut’s Greenwich Polo Club.
