Highly anticipated match features top talent in U.S. Polo

In what many believe to be a precursor to a 2013 Westchester Cup match, a U.S. polo team will head to the United Kingdom to compete against England in the 5th annual St. Regis International Cup on Saturday, May 19, at the legendary Cowdray Park Polo Club at 9:30 a.m. EST. Sponsored by American Express, this year’s contest will be the first between England and the U.S. in Great Britain in 15 years.

The long-awaited 24-goal match will feature elite international talents in U.S. and U.K. polo. Competing for the U.S. team will be prominent player-patron Marc Ganzi, 8-goal standout Pablo Pieres, along with 7-goal stars Nic Roldan and Jeff Hall. The England team will be led by 7-goal stars James Beim and Luke Tomlinson, who will be playing alongside skilled teammates Malcolm Borwick (6) and Ollie Cudmore (4).

Beim and Tomlinson played on the victorious 2009 Westchester Cup team, while both Nic Roldan and Jeff Hall represented the USA.  American-born Paul Pieres and Marc Ganzi will be making their first appearances on a US team.
