Spectators have gathered numerous, today, Saturday February 22, at the polo field in Fiames (Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy), for the finals of the twenty-fifth year of the Polo on Snow. Finalists, U.S. Polo Assn. Polo Team and Tendercapital Monte Carlo Polo Team, were ready to play, but very bad weather condition has again steal the show. The Argentinean Referee Federico Martelli declared the field unsafe to play a regular match and determined ‘goal penalty’ rule. U.S. Polo Assn. prevailed over Tendercapital Monte Carlo 4 – 3 by penalties from the 40 and 30 yards. Weather condition has penalized 2014 edition as never before. The Cortina Winter Polo Organizing Committee has however done all it was possible to overcome difficulties and bring the tournament to its end and gained the appreciation from all the participants.
