University of Utah Polo Fundraiser Draws Crowd to Support College of Pharmacy
The second annual University of Utah Pharmacy Cup Champagne Brunch and Polo Match on Saturday, June 5, was a huge success! More than 500 people came to dine on fine cuisine and experience a champion polo match – the only one to take place in Utah. This fundraiser event celebrates the history of polo at the U of U by offering a glimpse of the “Sport of Kings,” with proceeds benefiting the U of U College of Pharmacy’s new research facility, the L.S. Skaggs Pharmacy Institute. The driving force behind the Pharmacy Cup is the daughter of L.S. “Sam” Skaggs, an icon in the grocery industry and a life-long philanthropist. Event guests came dressed in their finest attire, ready for an unforgettable day that included an extensive champagne brunch, a silent auction, entertainment, and a professional polo match.
