Heavy afternoon rains on the grounds of the Grand Champions Polo Club caused the postponement of the opening round of play in the 2015 USPA Fall Classic.
Light rains rolled into Wellington in mid-afternoon, threatening the Friday start of the third fall tournament of the year with horses and players waiting anxiously at the end of the field for a decision to be made.
The rain persisted for another 20 minutes before the two afternoon games were cancelled.
It is hoped that play will be able to continue on Saturday with the final decision relying on field conditions in the morning.
