One of Los Angeles most unique and highly-anticipated social events, the 2012 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles showcased polo in Los Angeles, a sport that thrived in the city of Angels in the 1920’s and 30’s when there were twenty-two polo fields in the area. Will Rogers State Historic Park had long been a stomping ground for the likes of Walt Disney, Spencer Tracy, Clark Gable and Douglas Fairbanks, and as the sole remaining polo field in the county, the park strives to maintain its prestige as the heart of polo in Los Angeles. Through the annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Veuve Clicquot and Nacho Figueras are committed to keeping the sport of polo alive in Los Angeles.

“It has been an honor watching the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles grow these past three years, and Veuve Clicquot is very proud to have introduced polo to so many people in the Los Angeles area. With almost 5,000 guests, the 2012 Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Los Angeles was the biggest yet, and we look forward to seeing how the event grows in the coming years,” says Veuve Clicquot U.S. President Vanessa Kay. “This year’s event was particularly special as we celebrated the global influence of polo and honored India, one of the first countries where polo thrived. The event’s theme drew parallels to the legendary polo match of 1922 in Delhi where 150,000 spectators gathered to watch an exciting match.”

Co-hosts Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman, Head of Veuve Clicquot U.S. Vanessa Kay and Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier welcomed a fashionable crowd of almost 5,000 people including Ashley Greene, Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O’Connell, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ali Larter & Hayes MacArthur, Ellen Pompeo, Selma Blair, Minnie Driver, Rose McGowan, Lauren Conrad, Bijou Phillips, Georgia King, Mandy Moore, Justin Long, Diego Boneta, George Kotsiopoulos, Kaley Cuoco, Garcelle Beauvais, Ashley Madekwe, Dania Ramirez, Colbie Caillat.

Synonymous with flutes of champagne and top-notch fashion, guests of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic sported classic polo style—dresses and hats for women and summer suits for the gentlemen.
