It was a picture perfect day for polo and believe it or not, it was almost dust free at least until I left about 2:30. The only dust was the mess on the field in the south goal area. They discovered water trucks now, but sand maybe in the order soon. It was also Governor’s Cup time. The Governor, Pat Nesbitt, put on the show today as he decided this morning he wanted to take a big stick and oh boy did he. The Governor consistently stopped Valiente’s Robertito Zedda. The biggest play of the day was when he snuck up on the 6-goaler and hooked him. The Palomino (Jason Crowder) saw it coming, trotted down the field to put Windsor Cap. in front for the rest of the day. The Governor made a lot of plays today and it helped the Young Guns on his team do it twice in 12 chukkers. Windsor has defeated Valiente twice, so its obvious who should be in the finals as the Young Guns were smokin’ most of the day. Young Clemente Zavaleta stopped anyone who came to him and the Palomino (Jason Crowder) did his job sending it and then finishing it if needed. Windsor Cap. returns to the Skins Final for their 4th year in a row.
It was a great day for an Easter 12-goal show and it was almost tied through the first 4 chukkers then the boys in blue (Windsor) begin to show the speed that got them here to the semifinals undefeated despite 19 fouls against them. Windsor Cap was not delayed on their trip to the finals. In the finals they will meet the Hawks, who were too much for Palm Desert. The Hawks have Mini Mac (Julian Mannix) with big help in some excellent playmaking by Kyle Fargey. Father Joe Henderson did what he does turn the play and send it. It has all the makings of a North American war next Sunday for the finals of the Barbara Sinatra Skins game.
In the Governor’s Cup (6-Goal) I do not have all the results, but it will be the Hawks going to the semifinals. I am sure Casa Blanca is headed that way and Friendly Chev., but I do not know if its Pretty Lady Robin Paicius was one better than honey as she got the job done, but now her team must face the Casa Blanca squad. Robin has some real young guns with her in the form of Tomas and Matias Obregon and they look alike. The Hawks will meet Friendly Chev. and the Hughes gang, so it will be a fun day.
Down south it was the Big Lady in the Sky stopping it all as she dropped 5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. The horses get to rest for a day or two. As the season winds down there are a lot of very good Grooms available for the summer as well as horses and some Dandy pros made for you. So let us know we will connect you ASAP. See ya.
