Mt. Airy received one goal by handicap and quickly added to it with a pair of goals from Carlucho Arellano (one from the field and one on a penalty conversion).  Jan Pamela’s Steve Dalton got them on the scoreboard with a goal from the field to end the first chukker.  Mt. Airy left the field with an early 3-1 lead in the IPC March 12-Goal at the International Polo Club.

Scoring was hard to come by in the second.  Tommy Collingwood converted a penalty shot for a goal, but was countered by a penalty conversion from Arellano.  After two periods of play, Mt. Airy continued to lead by two goals, 4-2.

Jan Pamela seemed to get on track in the third period, adding four goals to their total and shutting out the Mt. Airy team.  Collingwood opened the scoring in the chukker with a goal from the field followed by three more unanswered goals from Dalton (one on a penalty shot).  At the end of the first half of play Jan Pamela held a 6-4 advantage over the Mt. Airy quartet.

The two teams slugged it out in the fourth with each coming up with three goals.  Dalton added his fifth goal of the game and teammate Mason Wroe scored from the field and added a penalty conversion.  Arellano accounted for all three of Mt. Airy’s goals (two on penalty shots).  Jan Pamela maintained the two goal lead, 9-7, with two chukkers left to play.

Three more goals from Jan Pamela extended their lead as Dalton added two more and Collingwood scored his third.  A penalty goal from Arellano kept Mt. Airy from being shut out, but the score stood at 12-8 with just one chukker left in regulation time.

Angela York (substituting for Garrick Steele) opened the sixth chukker with a goal for Mt. Airy, but a penalty conversion from Collingwood negated the effort as time continued to run out on a struggling Mt. Airy effort.  Adrian Wade managed the final goal of the game as time expired and Jan Pamela recorded the 13-10 victory.

Dalton’s seven goals (two on penalty shots) led the Jan Pamela attack.  Collingwood scored four times and Wroe added a pair in the win.  Arellano registered seven goals for Mt. Airy (five on penalty shots).  Wade and York added single goals in a losing effort.
