The Polo Report
By Steve Crowder

There was a nice article about Sunny Hale in the New York Times just last week. Sunny,  who like Nacho just seems to be able to bring a lot of attention to the sport of polo. These two individuals are doing more for Polo than all of the various polo associations around the world. I just think the USPA should jump in and really promote what these two players do. From NY to LA they are the two people who get the most media attention wherever they go. It is all so good for Polo.

Look up this article in the NY Times and this is just after the Arg. Open. That tournament did not get any press here in the U.S..

Sunny Hale helped the Goose Creek club team to victory in the U.S. Women’s Open Polo Championship in Houston last month.

Well in 7 days we went from the biggest tournament of the all in Palermo to the beginning of Winter in California.  The COYOTE Classic at EMPIRE POLO happened last weekend where there were no 10 goaler’s and no 8 chukkers. It was good as Lantic Bay peeled Sport Lobster in the Indio, CA as Tom Earl, Shane Flock, Peter Blake and the big stick Jared Sheldo took the silver over Ebe, Doug, Lolo and Gary Shepard.  It was not aired on the Internet, but it was the beginning of the 2014 Season which we hope will bring new faces to our Polo Winter Wonderland in the desert where you  have no rain. You also know you will play polo every weekend and get two tournament games in without much worry if you can get there.

LOOKING for a great CHRISTMAS Present? Look no farther than Santa Barbara where two very exciting Polo Ranches are for Sale. Look them up 3215 Foothill Rd.  A fabulous field with stables and a brand new house. The property is turn-key and ready to go. Just up the road from Carpinteria is the Zacara Ranch offering 200 acres of coastline view and a fabulous field with so much stabling you can hardly buy that many horses.

HEAD TO THE DESERT

see ya.
