Yes San Diego is Polo’s wildest Party town but there is a reason it just keeps doing it all Sumner long and she is about 5 foot 6 and cute but she is also a Master in connection . San Diego has not had above 10 goal Polo in 6 years and they get crowds bigger than the Hampton s with 20 goal and celebrities wherever you look . It is called the power of inter netting I guess. Last year was the same I was in San Diego for opening day and there were as many people as the finals of the PCO it was crazy and I think a 6 goal game. We are getting a couple of hundred here in SB and that is a 100 more than last year in June . WHY? I do not know but I do know if someone has a talent we need to use it to the max as POLO is going the wrong way fast in Ca. and that is not a story that is a fact . SD in danger of losing there lease, Santa Barbara 4 teams for the High Goal season Indio a shadow of the past and not a very big one Santa Rosa surviving it is not good and we are doing very little to change it.
What can we do ?
Help make these things happen :
Increase Polo school aid every one John Westley is proving it works and Bob Puetz New manager in SB is helping it happen outdoor Polo ever weekend for anyone wants to learn and Santi Wulf is a 5 goal pro helping it happen it is called education as most Polo kids learn from family but they are never going to be Patrons who can make a life for the others so create schools and help them all of us must do it and the USPA can set an example Pay the teachers not the Executives who carry the banner of BS there are some good ones in our Country Tom Blake , John Westley , Kyle Fargy, Martin Estrada and I am sure a lot more but they need to make a living to do the things that few can do TEACH. {PS} I think it would be good to have a list of them and where they are and be published ever month.
The biggest problem with Polo is the same as most sports but Double because most of our leaders do not get paid and the ones who do rarely earn it . If we are going to pay people to go and hustle donations give them a percentage and no wages , Pay the people who are bringing results increasing Memberships and I do not mean signing up grooms and College Kids who are around anyway. College Polo is a very good thing but I do really wonder how much it helps Polo especially after you watch Telecast of the last telecast of the Collegiate finals . That looked like me doing the Camera work and production and that would be horrible and it was. There must be a record of how many new people not associated with Polo from the past come from these ranks ? I am sure it brings Polo people together and that is good for the future I would think . However it is the simple fact is Polo is expensive and the people who are going to pay for Polo have to have good money to do it and the ones who have big money usually were smart to get it and they want to play they want to learn the game the right way sort of and here is tough part most do not want to spend 6 weeks learning to ride they want to play or at least hit the ball NOW. This is where the arenas and good instructors come into it, as this is the place to learn but this is not a great place usually dusty poorly lit and ugly, here to me is where the Polo Ass. can really help with lighting , water trucks advertisement and horse feed. They do not have to be a LA Equestrian Center but a place People do not feel uncomfortable going to in the evening because 7 months of the year most working people get done at sundown or later and a cold dusty nearly dark arena just does not seem so nice so make it a nice place to be and they might come back enough to get the bug and then you are on your way. This will build the USPA.

WEEKEND POLO
It is big in the UK as two of the biggest names in Polo meet for another final it would be fun to know how many times it has happened Adolpho Cambiaso and his Dubai team are going against Gonzalo Pieres and his Ayala team for the 2012 Cartier Queens Cup in Windsor , England and it will be broadcast live on Polotv.live.
